YOUR INTRINSIC VALUE

Your intrinsic value is your innate, inherent value that is inseparable from you. It is who you are after subtracting all external qualities away from you.
For instance, who are you aside all your educational qualifications what can the society benefits from you. What are the problems you can solve, do you even have any problem solving skills?
It is not surprising today that our educational systems produce graduate who are only fluent in English but can’t apply what they learn to real life situation. Many don’t even go beyond their field of study to learn. Perhaps you think all the theories and principles you were taught in class amount to something in the labour market. Your potential employers knows quite alright that you are brilliant (book wise) but want something better from you.
I will be explaining some of the things that can boost your intrinsic value. They are;

1. Character: this is a smoke that will always find it way out no matter your level of pretence or how much you try to cover it when you are not changing deliberately. The reason why character plays an important role in boosting your intrinsic value is that it is not something you buy with money, it is not a commodity that can be battered for neither is it a quality suited for the rich and famous or for the poor only. It is built upon the foundational commitment of love, honesty and compassion for others – Byron Pulsifer. No matter who you are, without character your fall is at the door. Haven’t you seen great people fall because of character? Many wonderful relationships broken due to the deficient of character. Can people trust you with money, once it’s money matter, don’t even talk of some people, they dubious than some renown internet fraudster can you be trusted with lives… haven’t you heard of teachers and lecturers who molested young girls in their care, they may be a brilliant teacher with good mastery of the subject matter, but lack of intrinsic value will bring to their downfall.
Your character defines who you are by the actions you take.

2. Skills and competences: This is to be able or suitable for a general role. Good character is not all it takes to boost your intrinsic value. If you possess good character and you lack major skills and competence, you may not go far in life. The problem with we youth of this generation is that we lack humility to learn, unlearn and relearn. We are the boss in our own life. We are teachers with no teachers, we have disciples while we ourselves don’t have disciplers. That is why we lack this skills and competence needed in our day to day activities. 
 What are the other things you can do if you don’t learn that trade or if don’t possess that degree. Isn’t it amazing how some graduate can’t even operate a photocopier, some can’t even do basic things on the computer. How do you think you can cope with this era of 5G? You need to add to yourself. 
Ordinary class group assignment you don’t know how it’ done so far you’ve paid your quarter, that is one of the reason why we are where we are today in this country. We have leaders with no direction, incompetency is the order of the day, if you doubt me just take a day out with any government organization or agency close to you. The flop is just too obvious.
As much as you can, acquire knowledge, the most informed people tomorrow are those who acquire knowledge today. Don’t be satisfied with what you know, dare for more.

In view of all this, make every effort to respond to God’s promises. Supplement your faith with a generous provision of moral excellence, and moral excellent with knowledge. (New Living Translation)

Because of this, make every effort to add integrity to your faith, and to integrity add knowledge . (God’s Word Translation)
