I WILL MAKE YOU
I WILL MAKE YOU!
From the word above, “I will make you” we can see the pronoun I which was used in place of GOD. That means the Lord is saying I will make you…. And when God utters a word, He makes sure that His word comes to pass and HE never says anything He cannot do. So when He says HE WILL MAKE YOU! HE WILL MAKE ME! He really meant it and HE is committed in doing it. See the full text below;
Fear not, thou worm Jacob, and ye men of Israel; I will help thee, saith the LORD, and thy redeemer, the Holy One of Israel. 15 Behold, I will make thee a new sharp threshing instrument having teeth: thou shalt thresh the mountains, and beat them small, and shalt make the hills as chaff. (Isaiah 41:14-15 KJV)
Fear not! Means that Jacob was already afraid probably of the enemies or situations around him so God had to charge him to FEAR NOT! So YAHWEH is charging you today to fear not! Even though you are as powerless as a worm that can be killed even by a finger, He declares his intention to make you. So what you have to do now is to trust Him.
God want to use you for a special assignment (which is to thresh mountains and beat them small) and to do that HE have to make you. He doesn’t use a man He has not make, in fact, that is one of His pre-requisite if He has need of you.
How God make us..
i. Through life experience: one potent tool in the hand of God to make His men is through practical life experience. E.g. Moses in Egypt, Joseph life experience etc.
ii. Through mentorship: this is when God places some people over our life to guide us. E.g. Moses with Jethro, Paul with Ananias, the disciples with Jesus, Elijah and Elisha, Joshua with Moses etc.
iii. Through encounter: this is when the Lord Himself reveal Himself to us through an encounter e.g. Saul with an encounter with Samuel, Saul on his way to Damascus etc.
iv. Through discipleship: this is following the lord and learning at His feet. Matthew 4:19.
What it takes to be made…..
1. We have to calm down with him because HE will not make us in haste and He will never tell you the duration of your period of making. We must submit ourselves like clay in the hands of the potter so he can bring out a vessel for He is the finer…. Prov. 25:4. We must not be in haste to launch out because what we receive might just be a breathing upon like the way Jesus breath upon the disciples Matthew 10:1ff, Luke 9:1ff. Even though you are casting out demons, healing the sick, preaching powerfully, all that does not mean that God is through with your process of making. You really have to calm down. Just like the FIFO and LIFO principle in accounting, RUSH OUT-RUSH IN.
2. We have to forget who we are, what we have, and our position in the society or at work and follow Him dogmatically as Elisha follow Elijah and he was made in double fold. If we come to Him with our age (chronological and spiritually), office position, title in the society, we will never be made. Remember the young rich ruler that came to Jesus. We have to be like the centurion who forgets who he is at the feet of Jesus.
3. Humility is a factor: you have to see yourself as a worm that you are and don’t be full of yourself. A proud is cannot be make
4. Avoid familiarity with God, His men and those God place in your life to mentor you. Mark 6:1-6. You cannot be made if you are playing familiarity with Him.
What God wants to make of us
1. Something beyond ourselves: we are powerless as worm that can easily be trampled upon, but God want to make us into something beyond ourselves.
2. He wants to bring somebody out of our nobody, a celebrity out of our nonentity, a message out of our mess and He is committed to do this. Moses was a stammerer that never thought of facing Pharaoh, Peter the coward became the leader of the early church.
God made Daniel, Esther, and Mordecai etc. great even in their land of captivity because they choose to follow Him or how best can we explain slaves becoming rulers their land of captivity, ruling even their captors! – Worm becoming a new threshing sledge with sharp teeth, threshing mountains, beating them small, making hills like chaff.
3. He wants to make us His Battle axe and weapon of war: Jeremiah 51: 19-23. He wants to use us to bruise the heel of the devil because we are the seed prophesied about in the book of Genesis 3:15. He wants us to put the devil and his cohorts on the run, to be His warrior. A soldier for Christ. By the time we are fully made mountains will flee before us, land will tremble at the mention of our names (not even the name of Jesus) we will shake the earth.
We have to surrender to His transforming power for Him to fully make us into what He want us to be because He is our manufacturer.
